If you are looking for a way to share your experiences, feelings and meet other like-minded people in the same situation as you why not start a blog! Finding friends can be difficult so if you are struggling, blogging may be the perfect option for you because you will build a community and more relationships than you ever thought you would! You will meet people who have the same interests as you and get some amazing support from them! Thinking of starting a blog but not sure how to get started? Here are a few tips that may help you get started if you are just starting out!
Buy your own domain name– If you are blogging for personal reasons then you probably don’t need to purchase a domain name and can do it the freeway through WordPress or Blogger but if you want to take your blog to the next level that is something you are going to want to think about. If you are considering purchasing a domain name really think about what you want it to be before purchasing it because you can’t change it unless you want to buy another domain name. Bloggers put a lot into their blogs and many of them have high hopes of making a full-time income off of them but unfortunately, a very small percentage of them actually do. If blogging as a career is a goal of yours build your domain authority and once you have done that then maybe you could look into monetizing to help you earn a little extra cash!
Content is king- Everything you post should be your best work and not something you felt you had to post because you haven’t done one in a while. When you are a blogger it is so easy to lose sight of why you started blogging and get caught up in the numbers when your blog is not doing so well. The content you post becomes of a huge part of who you are, so make it good because if you don’t your blog will suffer! It’s not about how many posts you are doing its the quality of them. Nobody wants to read a terrible post you whipped up in five minutes so always make sure you are doing your best work and you will do great things!
Remain professional and engaging- When you start to build a following you will start to get emails from your readers and other brands that will want to collaborate with you. When responding to these emails it is very important you keep it professional and sign any contracts from any brands that are interested in collaborating with you correctly because you don’t want to lose any potential opportunities. If you are struggling, responding to everyone you can visit websites such as Templafy to help you get stuff done.
Utilize social media- As a blogger, one of the most important pieces of advice I can give you to grow your blog is to utilize your social media platforms! Everyone has either Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest whatever social media platforms you use, take advantage of them and post your blog on it. If one of your followers on those platforms likes your blogs they will most likely share it! When you first launch your blog there is no need to make new social media accounts because you will most likely not be able to keep up with them all. Stick with what you know and as you grow if you want to create new accounts then go for it but otherwise don’t take on more than you can handle because your blog will suffer if you do!
When you are a new blogger it can get frustrating because sometimes the growth of your blog can be a little bit slow! Every blogger goes through this and if you feel like your blog is not growing then reevaluate your business strategy because posting more is not always better. Posting several times a week or even several times a day may work for some people but it may not work for everyone so if it’s not working for you then stop doing it! I wish I could tell you there was a strategy that would give you an incredible amount of growth but unfortunately, it doesn’t exist because different things work for different people. Find what works for you because even though you may be duplicating another blogger’s strategy to the T that does not mean you will have the same amount of success as them. Just be patient because blogging takes time! If you have any questions about three important things before launching your blog please leave them in the comments below.
