Should You Blog Multiple Times A Day?

Listen To This Post!

When it comes to blogging, sometimes people think that more is better and will tell you that you have to blog daily or multiple times a day to get growth. As a disabled blogger, I don’t think there is anything wrong with blogging multiple times a day, but it’s not for me personally, and I will never publish a blog post more than once a day. I am at home all day, and it’s not because I couldn’t publish multiple times a day, but I don’t want to. Writing blog posts multiple times a day can work for some people and is a good idea for new bloggers who don’t have a lot of content, but there are some downsides to posting multiple times a day, and it is not for everyone. I have nothing against people posting multiple times a day, and I don’t think we should be telling creators how often they should post because it’s their blog and they have the choice to post as often as they want. Why don’t I post multiple times a day? In this post, I am going to talk about why I don’t personally blog more than once a day.

It may cause some people to unsubscribe- I have recently started over with my blog, and do not have a lot of posts and could easily post multiple times a day, but I don’t really have any desire to post more than once a day. When you post three or four times a day, you run the risk of annoying your subscribers and people unsubscribing from your blog because they think you post too much. As of right now, I am trying to grow my blog and don’t have a lot of subscribers, and I don’t want to lose the people I do have. If you want to post multiple times a day and not lose subscribers, it might be helpful to spread your posts out over a few hours because when you do them too close together, people sometimes get annoyed and won’t read them. Some people do not care how often you post and will not unsubscribe if you are posting multiple times a day, and if you lose subscriber you will find new ones.

You run out of ideas quicker– My blog does not have a lot of posts, and it would not be hard for me to write blog posts multiple times a day because I have a lot of ideas from my other blog that I plan on recreating that have not been done yet. When you are a new blogger, you have more ideas than someone who has been blogging for five or more years, and one of the biggest mistakes I see new bloggers make is getting too excited and wanting to post all of these ideas in a very short time frame. There is nothing wrong with posting multiple times a day if you can keep up with that schedule, but what a lot of new creators don’t realize is that the more posts you have, the harder it gets to come up with new ideas. You may have a lot of ideas now, but if you post too much, you’ll start to notice that you run out of ideas a lot quicker than you ever thought you would. Don’t feel like you have to rush and get hundreds of posts on your blog within the first month of launching, but I would recommend that new creators not do that because an easy way to get burnt out from blogging quickly.

The quality of your posts may go down- Most people that I see who post multiple times a day create relatively short posts and are not usually more than a paragraph or two. There is no specific word count that every blog has to be and it depends on your goals and how much time you have to blog. People who don’t have jobs will have more time to write than someone who has a full-time job. As a disabled blogger, I aim to make my posts a little bit longer and the majority of my posts are at least one-thousand words because longer posts have more value and rank higher in search engines. If I were going to start creating shorter posts, I could probably post multiple times a day but if I wanted to keep things as they are it would be very difficult to create three to four times a day. The quality of my blog posts would likely go down significantly, and I am not willing to sacrifice quality for quantity because less well-written posts is more important than having more poorly written posts. I write posts that I would want to read because if I wouldn’t want to read my own post why should my readers want to? I would never take the time to read a poorly written post myself and I am not going to create things that are not well done just to have more posts.

Blogging more often requires more time– As a disabled blogger who is at home ninety-nine percent, I have the ability to write more often than people with jobs do, but even when you are unemployed, life happens, and there are going to be times when you have a doctor’s appointment and can’t blog. This week, I am taking a few more days off than I normally would because we are coming up to the Fourth of July. I am not going to have as much time to blog this week because my family gets together on holidays, and the only way I’d be able to blog is if I gave up family time, which I am not willing to do. As a disabled blogger, it is relatively easy for me to plan content ahead of time when I know I have a doctor’s appointment because I only blog a few days a week. It would be a lot harder to plan extra content if I were posting three times a day, because it takes at least two hours to write one post. It would be even harder to keep up with my pace if I had to write extra content and keep up with my current posts. I love blogging, but it would be very difficult to take time off from blogging if people were expecting posts three to four times a day.

Some bloggers can write multiple times a day, and that is fine if it works for you, but I will never personally blog more than once a day because it takes some serious planning. I have been blogging almost daily for about a month, and even though it does not take me that long to write one blog post, it is exhausting because writing blog posts is only one thing bloggers do. I don’t understand how people can blog three or four times a day. while also having the time to promote their blog. I have never had any desire to blog multiple times a day because I have other interests, and when you blog more often, it takes away from the other things in life that you also enjoy. Blogging multiple times a day can grow your blog quickly, but it’s not just about the number of posts you have because quality matters. It doesn’t matter how many posts you have if it’s not done well, because people are going to want to read sloppy writing. There are some days I will write two to three blog posts, but if I write multiple posts in a day, I generally will schedule them because you can still write multiple times a day, but you don’t have to share them all at once. I choose not to blog multiple times a day, but I am only sharing my opinion, and I am not trying to tell anyone that you should or should not blog multiple times a day, and it’s up to the creator.
